First trip on Coast Starlight

I am so glad I found this forum. I will be on the Coast Starlight in March on my way home from visiting my son and grandson. I will be traveling from Seattle to Simi Valley, CA. I have roomette 5 in car 1131. Has anyone any suggestions for must do's and must not do's for this train?

The Pacific Parlor Car or PPC is a must! Make sure you check that out! It's only open for Sleeping Car Passengers! Others will chime in on this topic and the PPC.

Attend an afternoon wine and cheese tasting in the PPC. It's free for sleeping car passengers.

Be sure to spend most of your time awake in the PPC. You will get much better views, and get to interact with fellow passengers.
