a collary to the longest flights. Great circle flight are even flown from coast to coast or even shorter. Flew ATL <> LAX, SFO, SA. Careful attention to jet stream winds were always a factor. SFO had the added problem of often having to avoid Nellis AFB. Once had to fly from SFO - Over LX area - Northern Mexico then onto ATL with a very southern JET.. Best enroute time less than 4:00 but do not remember actual time.
