One of my recent trips on the Texas Eagle was filled with problems: stuck toilets, delays, some angry passengers who don't travel well, lost articles, etc. The service and operating crews were, nevertheless, outstanding in the face of all the trouble, and deserve recognition.

Where should I send such a letter of thanks?

AW,

Amtrak usually tries to encourage people to call them on the phone with complaints or praise. If they have an official address for this type of letter, I'm not aware of it. However, you should most likely be able to send your letter to the address below and it should reach the correct department.

National Railroad Passenger Corporation

Washington Union Station

60 Massachusetts Ave., N.E.

Washington, DC 20002

Then mark it attention Customer Service Department.
