Me, I dunno. Read the Trains article. I still dunno.
Bigger budget always good. Cutting service to (hopefully) get a bigger budget -- not a real good tactic -- for any real-world department manager. Duh?
Me not understand.

It just boggles my mind that the board leadership has gotten so bad. I just don’t understand how anyone serving on the board wouldn’t want to help provide good, reliable transportation to Americans in a form they can be proud of.

During a pandemic - they should be seeking reasonable cutbacks that save actual money that don’t threaten the future of the company. Who appointed these bozos anyway? They can’t all be from the Heritage Foundation.

The NEC revenue may be down longer than the board believes. With the pandemic the "new normal" seems to be less people commuting and more people working from home. Big business will see how much money they can save by closing their offices and having their employees work from home. The NEC may never come back to what it was. The future is in the long distance routes but why is this board so blind?

Two related articles. RPA highlighted Coscias article yesterday. Coscia says some of the right things but there’s a lot of double talk in his words. Is he sincere? I don’t know.

With reports the past few days airports have been unexpectedly busy, Amtrak of course wasn’t able to take advantage due to service cutbacks.
