Man killed by train in TaconyA Metroliner heading from New York to Washington struck and killed a man this afternoon in the city's Tacony section who appeared to deliberately walk in front of the speeding train, authorities said.

Full story is here. According to the article, all AMTRAK and SEPTA R7 service through the area was shut down, and then later only AMTRAK was getting through, albeit at a slow speed. For most of the evening, SEPTA's website said no R7 service was running at all between Center City Philadelphia and Trenton.

Wow, I just missed this accident. I was on the 12:00 PM Acela from NY to DC and was only a few hours ahead of this tragedy.
