Wife and I are making a R/T day trip in the near future. What's the best side to sit on from NYP to POU?

I recommend visiting the Walkway Over the Hudson, a high railroad bridge converted to a pedestrian path. It's accessible by elevator 4 blocks from the Poughkeepsie station.

Also highly recommend this. Can be a tad scary for those afraid of heights, but there is an employee in the elevator.
