NJ Transit Raritan Bay Drawridge replacement

While we are all focused on the NEC, the Gateway Project, the Portal Bridge across the Hackensack River and the new tunnels under the Hudson, there is another major bridge that is getting replaced in the New York area. It is the Raritan Bay Drawridge on the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line between Perth Amboy and South Amboy. Here is an article on what's going on:

Thanks for this welcome news. For many decades the North Jersey Coast Line has provided access to the Jersey Shore for families. When my kids were young the beach fees were a big barrier for me to bring my kids to the shore for a day. But for the price of a NJT ticket I would also get access to the beach. I would take my family on the train to Hoboken and then transfer to a NJCL train and we would have our day at the shore.
