This is just a heads up to anyone who is not aware and traveling to/from SF over the Labor Day Weekend from Wednesday, August 28th through Tuesday, September 3rd

There will be NO connecting Thruway Service to/from Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains from 8pm 8/28 through 5am Tue 9/5. Passengers are advised to take BART and connect to/from these trains at the Richmond/BART Amtrak station and allow up to an additional 40 minutes travel time to make a connection. Regular BART fares apply. No checked baggage is available to/from SFx during that time period.

Thruway Coastal Service to/from San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara will BYPASS the San Francisco Stop. Passengers connecting to/from are advised to take Caltrain to/from San Jose or BART to/from Oakland.

Thruway Service connecting to the California Zephyr or Coast Starlight will operate to/from Martinez and/or San Jose depending on the route and travel direction. Extra time will be allowed to make the connection.

This is due to the scheduled closure of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge to demolish a portion of the (now) old bridge and connect the new bridge (due to open September 3rd at 5am) to the connecting roadway in its place. Both directions of the bridge will be closed to traffic.

If anyone is traveling to the San Francisco area during that time allow EXTRA TIME to travel. BART will run limited 24-hour service from 8/28 until the end of the service day on Monday 9/2.
