In 2018 this Czech 1st class car was in the front of the daylight Prague > Krakow train. Behind it was the café car. Passengers went to the café, placed orders, and paid. The attendant brought the food to the 1st class passengers. That and the hand grips on the seats were features that made this elderly passenger comfortable. The only problem I could see is that it was a long walk for 2nd class passengers from the other end of the train.
