Los Angeles Union Station - southbound Coast Starlight #11 from Seattle on the right, eastbound Sunset Limited #2 to New Orleans (and Texas Eagle #422 to Chicago) on the left. 2/422 departed only a couple minutes after.

I rode #11 from San Jose that day, got taquitos for dinner at Cielito Lindo on Olvera Street, then rode the last Surfliner to San Diego. 9:58pm on Friday, July 26, 2019.

We have a R/T Austin-SLO planned in July. The R/T Sunset/TE and NB Starlight are purchased. On the return from SLO I have the choice of SB Surfliner at about 6 AM leaving us in LAX metrolounge for ten hours or SB Starlight, leaving about 3:30PM from SLO arriving in LAX at 9:11 PM. That leaves...
