Tioga Pass was scene on the back of a military train, as shown in this photo. Any particular reason it would be put on a military train? Or was there just no passenger train to take it.

 
Escort transporter.

That not US equipment on that train. The PV is been used for the guards/escorts of said equipment. While we here in the US stop used escort on most movements, we still use them for certain moves. Naval and truck with sensitive stuff.
 
Main battle tanks are heavy. The US DoD have there own flat cars that have 6 axles per railcar. Only the light weigh stuff travel on the TXX flats. The last I heard, it was 120 tons was the capacity standard on RORO ships ramps and decks. Stuff is heavy and getting very expensive too.

The Army want the next generation Bradley fighting APC to have a return fire system built in. You fire a weapon at it, it shoot down your shell/rocket, then it will engage and fire at you. Pure Star Wars stuff. Yes we have these system, just not in a light tank/APC that carries a squad of troops.
