Had problems with kids and parents on a train from CHI to St Louis in coach. They were very upset naturally from a 12-17 hour delay for freight traffic that they obviously had not planned on and didn't bring money for food and blankets or pillows for sleeping. BUT all the complaining and such wasn't helping. Many would have offered to help except they were so billigerant and demanding. You cant feed your kid soda and sugar and think they will not be running up and down the car with a sugar high. :O Anyway some of us were traveling all the way to TX and beyond and wanted to sleep. Thankfully had earphones and tuned it out. About 2am a train attendent came in and told them under no circumstances was it to continue and the kid had to stay in the seat and be quiet. Found out later people down below in the bottom level had complained of the noise of the little kid running up and down the aisle. You have to understand we were all not happy as we were on freight tracks due to track repair so there wasn't anything out the windows and no one likes being stopped in the middle of trees in the middle of nowhere to be seen... But there are those of us that wanted to sleep.... Finally early the next morning we got to St Louis and they all got off. There was clapping.... Some were very nice as one couple of ladies was deaf and I was writing back and forth to them what the annoucements were and what was going on. We made up some time to TX but were still 9-10 hours late. Felt bad for those connecting in to the Sunset Limited in San Antonio as I dont think it waited up and one lady was going to see her son graduate in Tuscon I think it was... Hope and pray it worked out for her.... Very thankful our friends picking us up in Houston after the bus from Longview came even though it was after 10pm instead of 1pm....
