Thanks but there must be some additional problems as 28 is now down 10 hrs out of Pasco due in to Spokane fairly soon. #8 is shown as parked in Spokane, I assume waiting for #28 but maybe also for the bus from Seattle? No news that I could find (TO, BNSF service bulletins, news).

Major wind event, the railroad probably held it so that the superliners didn't become sails, like they did in Saco,MT in the mid 80's.

Don't know any specifics, but from general knowledge when we have a windstorm like we just had, trees often come down on the ROW in Stevens Pass, sometimes a lot of them.
