Southwest Chief 4(2) - Locomotive Failure?

Tuesday night, I was on Metrolink's northbound "Angels Express" train from Anaheim to L.A. -- and I was surprised when the conductor announced we had to cross over to Track 3 (normally the southbound track) at Fullerton because "Amtrak 4 is on Track 1." It was 10:50 P.M. -- the Chief should have departed Fullerton 4 hours before.

I saw one locomotive had been disconnected from the train and was pulled forward, and the train consist was sitting there dark -- couldn't see any passengers through the windows, so presumably they'd been let off to wait in/around the Fullerton station building.

Just wondered if anyone had more info. I checked later, and 4(2) did depart within the hour after I saw it.

SWC #4 left ABQ 4:43 late today (A little over an hour ago). At least it is moving.

Looks like another ride though Kansas during the day.

It will be a great opportunity for the passengers to see the beautiful Flint Hills scenery after the spring rains. It should be lush.
