STB establishes Passenger Rail Office

Perhaps we might finally get the long-distance trains running close to schedule, but it will take substantial penalties for this to happen in my opinion.

STB Launches Office of Passenger Rail - Railway Age

The Surface Transportation Board (STB) on Oct. 1 established the Office of Passenger Rail, responsible for investigating and analyzing issues regarding Amtrak on-time performance (OTP).

This should help focus all efforts related to passenger rail at the STB now that it has been legislatively handed a bigger specific role that the Chairman is taking seriously.
