The Talgo trainset that had been destined for the Los Angeles-Las Vegas route was instead sent to the Pacific Northwest. It handles one of the two round trips that run north of Seattle. I believe it has since been decided to go with a different technology for the Las Vegas service, which is all well and good since they would have to take that Talgo set back and use inferior equipment (inferior to the Talgo, such as Amfleet I or Horizon) to protect that run in Washington State.
