Here's a cool video by Noel Philips, primarily a Flight vlogger, but occasionally adds some trains in his repertoire (including a nice ride on the Empire Builder).
This video shows a phenomenal railroad that goes across Kenya. Politically darker is the investment that was made by China that put the country into massive debt, presumably in exchange for rare earth metal mining.
But the train video is cool! I think it along the original route that connected Uganda to the coast by the British way back when, which was captured in the book "Man Eaters of Tsavo" and the Val Kilmer film "The Ghost and the Darkness".
