TRE loco far from home

Spotted a Trinity Railway Express F59 a little far from home tracks from my southbound Cascades train in Tacoma, WA

Anyone have any idea what it’s doing over here on coal train duty?

There is a major locomotive shop up that way in the Tacoma/Seattle area. right now they have a locomotive from the Quebec North Shore and Labrador. That’s a land locked line.

If you did this sort of thing on your model railroad you'd get no end of snarky comments.

But when the big railroads do it, its OK.
