As of the 23rd, the East Troublesome Fire appears to have moved more northeast, away from Granby and Fraser and the route of the Zephyr. Train 5 left Denver on time today. On the other hand, Rocky Mountain National Park is completely closed and most of the town of Estes Park, its eastern gateway, is being evacuated.

Granby is evacuating too correct?

With the wind the fire headed towards Estes Park. At 10 p.m. Saturday night it hasn't begun snowing yet in Denver, but we're expecting it overnight. The Winter Park - Granby forecast for overnight is 10-20 inches. We had a taste of snow two weeks ago (see photo by my daughter-in-law) and then back to the drought. The forecasted snow will be a help but may not end the hazards.
