This on the MSP Omaha line (old Chicago Northwestern route ?)

Perhaps Biden's money to fix the infrastructure is not getting there fast enough.
Longer trains than way freights setting up vibrations tearing tracks apart and
heavier too ?

UP has plenty of money, they don’t need any Federal funds. What to invest and where to invest it is always a struggle. A little less for the stockholders/employee bonus and more for track maintenance, and track inspections.

This on the MSP Des Moines (old Rock Island route ?)

Yes, that is the former Rock Island Spine Line.

This on the MSP Omaha line (old Chicago Northwestern route ?)

Yes, the Chicago & North Western owned that line as well.

For anyone interested in the heritage of a railroad line in Iowa, the Iowa Department of Transportation has a good map for that. Just click on a line to see a list of former owners.
