Today's Lake Shore Limited west is currently about 2 and a half hours late due to a bad ordered Coach that had to be dropped off and replaced at Albany.

Status says it is due at 11:34. That's not too bad. Last year when I rode it to Chicago, on an otherwise pleasant trip, arrival Chicago was at noon. I think it was freight delays, as we did not seem to have equip[ment problems.

Today's 49 doesn't leave for another 6 and a half hours, it's 49(20) yesterday's departure that is arriving late. It was on time into Albany and left way late. Wonder if they lost time trying to fix something and failing, or if they had to wait for a car to strip from another train. Cars are cut and engines changed routinely in Albany in way less time than what they lost yesterday. With any luck, they may make Chicago under 2 hours late.

The car was bad ordered and then they had new issues attaching the new car.

Thanks, must have been a joy to sit for 2 + hours in Albany. Chances are they were putting the coach in the front, the engine comes off for the swap out of the DM anyway. If there wa no power for that long, the train would have been pretty brutal, it was warm yesterday. Hope they let everyone off, although there isn't much to do in that station anyway.
