It's only a few seconds, but this is the first video I've seen of the VL II H room:



The lower bunk looks like it might be shorter than standard. Am I right?

I think the hallway window is further forward than in the VL I H room, so the view from the seat out to the other side of train might not be as good.

It might just be the camera angle, but the sink seems to be rather close to the seat. A splashy face washer might end up with a wet spot on the bed.

I'm thinking I might want to stick with the VL I if there's a choice.
 
When I was peeking inside on my recent trip on the Silvers. I certainly noticed a huge difference between the layouts in the H room between the two generations.

I could certainly see some folks having a strong preference for one over the other. Frankly, I thought the old layout looked better – but at this stage in my life I’m not the target audience. I’m never a fan of having a toilet right next to the bed - but I’m not disabled nor limited in mobility
