I forgot my fleece jacket and even with the adjustment in temp that the crewman made, I still felt cold. I put the Amtrak blanket over me.
What have you forgotten to bring with you on an Amtrak trip?

Sleep masks (a lot of light gets through curtains in sleeping cars).
And corkscrew!

I was taking a trip to Chicago for an important convention/reunion. I packed a suit for the gala dinner. I get there, and I realize...I left the shirt and tie back in Houston!
Fortunately there was a Men's Wearhouse near our hotel....

Umbrella & sunglasses, 2 things I always grab from the car after parking at the station. Fortunately, it didn't rain, and I squinted.

Pajamas (which I'm fine with sleeping in and for walking down the sleeping car hallway to the restroom in).
Extension cord or multiple outlet plug. Using Cpap or other electronic devices can be a problem if you need more than one outlet
Cash! Tips on Amtrak trains are one of the very few places I use cash any more!

My last trip was overnight in coach on the way out, and then in a room on the way back. For the coach portion, I forgot to bring my ski cap in case the coach was cold. Fortunately, it was a comfortable temperature (I had to take off my jacket in order to not be too warm under a blanket).

I have to remember to bring a tablet, or chromebook with me. My brother and I are in coach class aboard # 97 and have received a painful reminder on why an electronic device is necessary.

They used to sell decks of Amtrak playing cards in the cafe. I have a deck which I bought many years ago. I don't know if they still do.
Haven't seen any Merch on the LD Trains in several years.( pre-Pandemic)
The Coast Starlight used to sell really great items in the Sadly missed Pacific Parlor Car, and most LD Trains had T-Shirts, Mugs, Cards, Kids items etc.
