I have not taken an Amtrak trip since 2017. I have one scheduled for next year. Since I knew I would not be traveling for a while I donated 2000 points a few years ago. I now have a balance of 764. I thought points expire. Why do I still have them? As I indicated I have a trip next April where I will accumulate a few thousand points. Will I still have the 764 added to it? I do not have the Amtrak credit card.

Amtrak extended points expiration due to Covid. Remember, expiration is based on ACTIVITY, not trips so any activity qualifies.
Would the shopping portal count as "activity" to keep my points from expiring?
