Wilson NC Station Construction?

I have travelled through the Wilson NC (WLN) Amtrak Station on two round trips in the past 3 months, and I have noticed quite a bit of construction going on. The northern half of the station platform has been blocked off and torn up with lots of construction equipment on site. Both of my departures out of Wilson were on a Sunday, so no crew was present. However, my most recent arrival was around 2:45 on a Thursday, and there was a crew working on the site. Does anyone know what is going on at the station and what the end result will be?

No clue what's going on, but based upon what I know about NC, I'm sure it's the state improving the station. North Carolina cares deeply about its corridor services.

If it were solely an Amtrak maintained station, you'd likely be dodging rust falling off the beams (like I see in Florida - a lot).
