I went through them once a few years ago—there were no problems and my points posted quickly. Having said that, their prices are not great. I would only use them if the points you’re getting in return are substantial.
Very true, and personally, I don't mind delays: just means more time on the train, which is never a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. In this case I'm looking at connecting trains to go to Emeryville once I arrive-- probably a good idea to plan for a later train than booking one with a shorter...
Thanks for this. I seem to remember something similar on the old Texas Eagle timetable (when you were scheduled to get into LA at like 7:15 but often found yourself with an hour and a half to travel the 20 miles between the 2nd to last stop and LAX).
I know 8:15 is listed, but I've heard that it usually gets in earlier, sometimes by as much as an hour. Any truth to that, or has anyone experienced consistently earlier arrival times?

I'd be arriving in Chicago on a business class ticket and leaving a few hours later on the Wolverine (again in business class). Would I be able to access the Met Lounge, or is it strictly for passengers with sleeper accommodations?
Interesting. I don't know why mine is no longer valid, but at least it explains the delay in getting the new card (i.e., if most people are able to use the old card until receipt of the new one). Thanks for the info.

Any particular reason for the snark, or are you just a huge fan of Chase Bank? Just curious.
Nope. Nice of Chase to take their sweet time sending it, when we're the ones being inconvenienced by loss of a card due to their failure to come to terms with Amtrak.
I'm still pretty disappointed by the whole situation--I don't like BOA, and losing the Amtrak account makes it unlikely that...
