Interesting. My survey had only options of 55% on-time trains (likely between St Paul and Chicago) and 90% on time between MSP and Chicago. Obviously, the better option is the plane for half the price over the $100+ for the 55% on-time train. I don't know how they are going to use this data, but...
I am not just arriving at conclusions; this is what the lounge attendant told me. He repeated after I showed him my same-day ticket and Select Plus status. He was visibly annoyed after I asked two or three times because I wanted to understand him correctly. Even if you have a same-day ticket...
I was in Chicago this past week and have Select Plus status, but I was turned away. Evidently Amtrak is restricting lounge access to only Select Executive going forward, although no signage nor the website reflect this.
I took Superliners a few times in the last 2 years (primarily because of Covid) and each time the coffee station in the sleepers were in operation. Typically the hours are in the morning only though (end around 11am?) unless your attendant likes to have the coffee going all day long. I only took...
Yes there were enough seats for everyone to have a pair.
Interesting enough, I took the Amtrak thruway from Saint Paul to Milwaukee today again (I do this frequently and am mourning the loss of the train) and there were only 4 other people on the bus. No megabus tickets this time. Much more...
I took this MSP->MKE bus last week and about 50% of the passengers presented tickets from Megabus, so it appears they are indeed operating this route. The bus was also quite full...not the 20% capacity as estimated on Amtrak's website. Side note: I wouldn't recommend this method of travel as it...
I got Select Executive for the first time at the end of 2021, and I didn't get an email about any extension of tier status. I've never even made Select before this, but my Select Executive status ends in Feb 2022. Disappointing.
Does anyone know if the 10% off coupons are also included in the welcome kit? They are not loaded in my account and I tried emailing Amtrak, but after an entire week they replied only saying call their customer service number.
