So what is the difference between "Value" and "Flexible" rates?
The only difference I see that "Value" tickets have 10% refund fee within 24 hours before departure while "Flexible" tickets have 0% refund fee.
So who will be willing to buy "Flexible" tickets???
We just did a trip on 4 Superliner trains in family bedrooms. And on each train we had this problem. It's not possible to completely close A/C vent. You can only close it a little, but it doesn't really help. The only way to "close" it - push 5-6 wash clothes into vent and car attendants are...
Are they planning to do something with A/C system in new cars?
Currently there is no way to adjust temperature in the room. They have some "thermostat", but it's never working and cold air is blowing from A/C all the time. We have to block it with wash clothes, but this is ridiculous. My kids...
I called AGR and they told me it would require 10k extra points to do this change. I asked to talk to the supervisor and then agent after looking for the supervisor told me: "Ok, nobody is available here right now to ask, so I will do this change for you." :)
I have booked the trip HBG-NOL-LAX-SAN. I was planning to drive to HBG and leave my car there. But now I changed my mind and I want to fly to NOL instead and board in NOL. Can I simply skip the HBG-NOL segment without notifying Amtrak? My concern is that my trip was booked with AGR points using...
There is no need to go to Whitefish. There are car rentals (Avis and Budget) at the East Glacier Park station, right across the street from the station.
While train ride between East Glacier and West Glacier is nice it's not even close to the views of Glacier Park itself. Train doesn't go inside the park.I am planning to stop at Glacier Park for at least 5 days this summer.
Isn't it a violation of some Federal regulations?
I don't believe that total loss of paid value can be allowed by law in case of illness or other troubles.
The new policy SUCKS!
What if I got sick and can't take the trip? Will it be possible to move my trip to another date?
And I understand there is no any insurance you can buy to cover that case?
I think the real issue is that advance fare is not advertized as non-refundable on Amtrak.com and also that full fare is not available more than 14 days in advance, so people have no idea that they are buying non-refundable tickets.
