Well, we probably won't be traveling out of the country again anytime soon, probably not even in the 10 years the passport would be good so for us we are saving the $200 for 2 passports by not getting them for this trip.

Oops, I guess I should have specified we are using birth certificates/ drivers licences. Should I leave it blank or do I use the state file #?

We are taking Amtrak SEattle to Vancouver and I'm buying the tickets online. It asks for the Type of ID Document, Issuing Country, and ID Document Number. What do I put for that number? Is it the State file number, because that's the only number I can find on either of our certificates?
