Thanks so much; just cancelled the reservation. 😔 It's mostly a bummer because I had originally been scheduled to take this trip on March 13, 2020 -- and was hoping we'd be in a spot where I could go! The train will still be there, so hopefully can try again in a few months.

Thanks so much, I think you're right -- I would probably enjoy it more when things are more predictable/stable versus being holed up in a one-bed cabin and being more nervous.

I am booked to go from Vancouver to Toronto in a couple of weeks, and have been seeing the increase in case numbers in the US and Canada. I'm currently booked in a berth, but am considering a couple of options: 1) Upgrading to a bedroom for more private/enclosed space 2) Postponing my trip...

I like that they offer a variety of options; I’m headed on a May Vancouver-Toronto trip this May in a berth. The only thing that I don’t like about the single rooms is the toilet that is also physically in the room (same issue on the Amtrak Viewliner I).

I contacted Via Rail on Twitter and through their online chat. Both replies were: "We have no updates regarding berths."

I wish they would offer them again, as COVID rates are down, and sleeping in economy would essentially be the same COVID risk.

Definitely a first world problem in my circumstance (versus needing it for medication, etc). Might just end up getting a bit of dry ice then.

My backup option is dry ice in a soft-sided cooler (wanting to chill some champagne and cocktails en route for our group).

Going on Silver Meteor 97 this week and hopefully will be on a VLII. I’ve seen on some videos an ice machine at the end of the car next to the coffee machine. Has anyone been on one recently and can speak to if this has been available to use? Will help with my soft cooler planning.

I am going on Silver Meteor on June 2, and it looks like Silver Service has daily service then. Do you think it'll be the two-sleepers by this point versus June 7? In car 11 and wanted to figure out if I should call them, or if the train will likely be VLII
