Thank you for all of the great information. It is nice only being about an hour away. If we leave when the train leaves CHI, we have time to stop for dinner/ snak on the way and still have time to hit the antique shops in Columbus.
Either way, since she is going all the way to Seattle, a late...
My daughter is scheduled to leave out of CBS tomorrow. I notice EB #7 is over 4 hours overdue leaving CHI tonight and they are not even giving a time for tomorrow. I have been on hold for 30 minutes already and I am expecting a longer wait. Any information would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Depending on the train you take, the meal times can be different. On the Texas Eagle, Breakfast was only served from 6:30 to 8am. Lunch (mini menu) was Served from 10:30 to 11:30. The train did not get into Chicago until 2:00pm. It seems the On Board dinning crew kind of set their own hours.

I thought that was weird too, I was very surprised that there was no...

Cool, that sounds like a plan. It is only an overnight trip, so a roomette should be fine for us. The lounge on the Empire Builder is always pretty crowded. We will have to see how the Texas Eagle lounge situation is. Sitting in the new Metropolitan Lounge right now, pretty nice.
I am thinking about checking on the price to upgrade to sleeper on today's ride and the return on Feb 4. Will this cause any issues with my ticket, or issues with boarding? Is there a way to check in the upgrade price online?
