Looks like this derailment is messing up with these routes.

It hit a vehicle between Cleburne and McGregor yesterday around 3:30-4pm. It took somewhere around 5 hours before it started moving again, and that looked like it was just to put it on a siding while it waited for a replacement locomotive. It didn't start moving again until some time after 3am

Ya after i typed it saw it start moving again :D lol.. That is a crazy delay but it is better to be on the rails then off the rails.

Would they connect the next train catching this train to make 1 train due to the extreme winds?

Yes hopefully this does not happen again but i been on those tracks before and it is crazy line when the cliffs and becahes.

I am on a train from LAX to SAN and SAN to RIV in 1st week of September. Hopefully they can get it fixed by then. We will see.. If i have a train that does not work. Does Amtrak automatically cancel your trip and refund the money?
