Take a look at the California Zephyr timetable. Train 5 from Chicago to Emeryville has a "D" designation for each stop from Sacramento to Richmond (the next-to-last stop). "D" is described as "Stops only to discharge passengers; train may leave before time shown". Since nobody can board the...

Note that a train may leave before its depart time if it's a "discharge only" stop (no passengers are permitted to board). This is indicated by a "D" in the time and days column of the timetable, e.g. the westbound California Zephyr stops from Sacramento to Emeryville inclusive.

I feel sorry for the folks who run the little convenience store in Grand Junction CO. They sell Coke products. When the California Zephyr arrives, there is typically a rush of Coke lovers eager to make a purchase.
