Thanks for the answers. Never thought of the transdorm reasoning. I will have to check this September and see if any of our three western trains has one. We have been on seven western trails in the last three years and I don't recollect having one on any of those trains but I certainly could be...
I asked this once before but I am still wondering if there is a logical reason why the sleepers are at the head end of most trains? We always watch for the faces of the other passengers the morning after the first night on the train. Almost no one says they got much sleep at all.
I have been wondering what the reason is in the current consists that has sleepers towards the front and the coaches towards the rear? I figure that there must be a logical reason?
We are overnight in Seattle and then to LAX for another overnight and on to San Diego. If we miss the EB we can go the next day and cut back our SD time a day or stay in CHI for a day or two and switch to the SWC. Not sure how much of a bath we would take fare wise if we switched to the Chief...
Looks like there is a corridor that runs between the North and South tracks. Is that okay to use for passengers? Looks like it would take close to the same time to navigate that as it takes to go from the lounge to either set of tracks. If we have 15 minutes and our SCA stages us as first off...
I have a couple of questions that maybe some of you can answer. We are doing our 4th annual around the country trip this coming September. Our first two long distance trains are the Lake Shore Limited and the Empire Builder. We have always scheduled a hotel to layover between long distance...
I have used the call back option at least 10 times over the last 3 plus years I have always been called back. In fact, once we were sitting in CUS and I could not accept the call. They called me back a second time.
Here's a question hopefully someone can answer. We are on 449 next September and we start in Boston. No checked bags. We used points for this, 689.00. Got lucky. On 12/15 the roomette price dropped from the 689.00 rate to 452.00. We modified our tickets and got 11000 points back. Then on 12/21...
I believe you are correct. We just purchased tickets for a 10 train trip next September. All the points paid trains are on one reservation and cash paid on a second.
I think I saw part of my question answered but not sure so....To figure the price of a roomette when using a companion coupon I would get the price for a roomette for 2 and then deduct the coach class cost for 1 from it? If yes, does anyone know which coach class price gets deducted? They are...
