The last time we were in Sanford, we went exploring and was shocked how big it is and what they have to offer. Before thought it Auto Train was the big deal in town and nothing more to offer. Lots of shopping and places to eat.

Annual Black Friday Auto Train Sale has started today. Coach seating $39.00 per person instead of $95.00 There are some blackout dates, but I am going January 25th southbound and got a $56.00 credit for my trip.

There has not been dinner in the coach seating for quite a while now. It was removed years before covid, cost savings. We always stop and get sandwiches to bring on the train.

I was referring to Coach Passengers, not sure about sleeping car passengers, I believe it is grab and go also, from the annoucements I heard.

I just checked with Amtrak and there is no change in seating in coach on the Auto Train. They said seats are assigned at the station when you arrive

What if you booked several months ago, my ticket does not show any seating

The lower level seating is mainly for passengers in wheel chairs and I would not want to deprive one of them a seat by reserving a lower level coach seat.

Amtrak has raised the minimum price for coach seating on the Auto Train. Price increased from $89.00 to $95.00 now

The coach attendant greets you when you get on the train and you never see them in the coach until it is time to depart. They work in the dining car or bar or other duties.

It depends on the number of passengers on the train. If the train is almost sold out you will be sitting with another passenger. You can mention to the agent when checking in you prefer a window seat and mid car. They usually accommodate you. I just came down in January and the agent said...

I did not think pets were allowed on the Auto Train. I assume they were service animals. I have taken the train for 16 years now and never have seen a pet aboard.
