This train left Grand Junction at 7:30 PM , not much of a chance to see Colorado, if the sky was clear there was a good moon out. From SLC to Den picked up 45 minutes, so everything must be fixed, just running late. Left Denver 3:37 AM almost 8 1/2 hours late.

Train sat in SLC for nearly 2 hours and is now over 9 hours behind, not going to make up much of that time. Folks will get to see Nebraska in daylight maybe.

I traveled on the CS last year and on the northbound the lounge car had strings of lights. I got the feeling it was the crew that decided to festive up the lounge car as we were traveling the day after Christmas. When we came home the southbound did not have any decorations.

I would suggest getting two roomettes, which is cheaper than one bedroom, in most cases. This would allow your 4 year old to sleep in the upper bunk and the adults each get a full lower bunk.
