Is the train on time?

Is there a place on Amtrak's web page where I can see if a train is running on time? I am going on the Sunset Limited in October and I want to get an idea of what I may be up against?

The airports have a page and you can see if the airplane is 20 minutes from landing, etc. Is there something similar for the trains?

Yes, it is in the right hand corner, about 3/4 of the way down and is called "check train status". You need to know the train number to effectively use it.

Thanks! It worked great. The SL left LAX 10 minutes late and is scheduled to hit LFT about 3 hours late. I can deal with that.

Belive me it wont hit Lafayette La untill about 14-36 hrs late thanks to the UP RR.

I never use the Amtrak status feature to check if trains are ontime, I use it only to see if they're late. :lol:

I was drivin' down to Tucson on I-10 this afternoon, about quarter to two, when I passed the eastbound Sunset Limited parked in a siding. It was scheduled to arrive in Tucson at 8:00 AM :unsure:
