Hello, i'm currently modelling the BN in the mid 90's in the Wadena, MN area and i'm piecing together the EMPIRE BUILDER, I would like to know if they had a transition sleeper on the tailend as well.

Thanks

MJR

The simple answer is no, the train would operate with one transition sleeper that would run on the Seattle section of the train.

Thankyou!! its hard finding transition sleepers to begin with...the local hobby shop has 1 undec here...9 cars down 5 to go:)

Heres my Empire Builder consist in N scale

2 engines sometimes 3 f40ph units

2 mhc

1 baggage

1 dorm i used a bi level commuter car

2 sleepers

1 diner

3 coaches

1 lounge car

2 coaches

1 sleeper

The lounge 2 coaches and the rear sleeper are the portland section the rest goes to seattle. I wish i had some road railers so i could send them to st paul like they did before amtrak got out of the express business.Last time when i rode the builder between chicago and st paul we had as many as 17 cars but after we departed st paul going west we were down to 10 or 12.And we had 3 engines all the way to spokane.
