Texas Eagle question

Amtrak route 422 is listed as the Texas Eagle on Amtrak's booking site - does 422 denote the through cars from Los Angeles while 22 is just the portion north from Texas?

#22 would be from San Antonio to Chicago. #422 is from Los Angeles to San Antonio, riding with #2- Sunset Limited.

One train will be split into two- #422 to Chicago while 2 continues its journey to Florida.

#422 is three times a week, so is #2.
