I'll be traveling from Dallas to LA in November, and given the recent unreliability of the Texas Eagle/Sunset connection in San Antonio (and occasional bus substitution), I'm considering taking the Eagle and the SW Chief instead.
Can anyone tell me how reliable the Springfield/Galesburg connection is between the Eagle and Chief?
I know the Eagle has excellent on-time performance, so I'm not too worried about the connection between the Eagle and Chief on the outbound leg, but rather the connection between the Chief and the Eagle on the way home.
