Is this now limited to just two segments or am I missing something? Never mind, just noticed the "Add Trip" sort of button. I'm all for elegant web interfaces, but is it asking too much to make critical interface elements like buttons more obvious than being apparent plain text?
I'm 6' 3", air travel is miserable. For me there is a one to one correspondence between each hour in the airplane and a day that my hips and back ache.
An alternative is the Wall Street Inn at 9 S. William St. It's right by Wall Street so excellent if you need to be at that end of town. Small (and the usual small rooms) but very friendly. I haven't stayed lately, but still getting 4 1/2 starts at Trip Advisor.
To me this has the same ring to it as when airlines stopped providing paper luggage tags. Some clueless beancounter suggested this could save zillions! No millions! No thousands! Well actually $584.19 a year, but still $500 is $500.

Thanks for the very enjoyable trip report. I do the Pennsylvanian out to Philly just for the ride occasionally for fun and have often for work. It's a lovely ride. I'm a recent 're-plant' from the East End of the 'burgh to the S. Hills so getting ready to make the T a part of my comings and...
Coming to the parking party a little late, but there is a garage right across the street from the Amtrak station. Visually but I don't think 'architecturally', this looks like part of the Greyhound station. You should have no problem finding parking at Pennsylvanian east bound boarding time. The...
This is the handiwork of Matt. One of the *best* conductors on Amtrak. He's great at that 'job' part and also at the customer service part. He commonly announces arrival in Altoona with a cheery "Any volunteers for Altoona?" Also a former Marine, he has great stories to tell.
I use the train for 'medium' to LD business travel. Yes, apparently the lone Amtrak passenger to do so. ;) I counter the "It's a waste of time." people with "So what did *you* get done on your drive from Pittsburgh to Philly/DC/NYC???". Yeah, what I thought; you drove. Period. And so now you've...
Hi, I'm a long time (really long time) Amtrak rider. This began during college when I got curious about the 'other half' of the Harrisburg PA transit terminal. I rode Greyhound back and forth to Pittsburgh. I was intrigued by the prospect of "You can still take a passenger train?" and began...
