What is the current meal service on the Capital Limited and the Cardinal please? I've heard its that (not so yummy) Flex Meal but some of my reads say both trains have returned to Traditional. Thanks

Boy... with all that you are going thru to accomplish the mission at hand, I'd be very leary of shipping anything via Amtrak

Will be traveling on the Cardinal on June 15ish with the wife and 2 Grandchildren (2 Roomettes). We will be going from Manassas, Va. to Chicago. Anyone know the current consist of that train and what the current dining is like? Thanks

Just return home, riding Coach, on the Texas Eagle. If if wasn't for the short trip we took on the TE there is no way in Hades that I would ride in Coach ( we have always payed for sleeper accommodations of some sort). The coach car we were in was filthy...and it wasn't filth from JUST one...

This is really O.T. but I have a question for you railfans of yesteryear. I was in the USN in the early 1970's. Stationed out of Norfolk, Va. Was there anyway I could have railed to Northern Wisconsin (my folks lived there) via train? If so..what trains would I have had to take?
