Thanks for the replies. We've traveled on the Silver Service lines to and from Florida before with the sleepers in the front behind the baggage car and in the rear (without the baggage car on the end). We were the first sleeper in the consist, so I didn't notice the 'tail wagging' but did...
I noticed that on the 2/24/12 southbound Silver Star consist, the Viewliners were on the rear of the train followed by the baggage car. Are they going back to having the sleepers in the rear again?
That is funny, guess I was thinking too much of our January cruise & visiting the 'isles'. We are taking Northeast Regional from TRE to NYP, then off to the port & warm waters!
Hello, can anyone tell me the isle width of a NEC coach isle width. I am asking so to see if our tag along luggage would fit rolling down the isle.
Thank you.
What kind of meals would we expect traveling first class on the Cardinal? The dinner menu on the Amtrak website looks the same as the Silver Service lines but I thought the Cardinal did not have a 'full service' diner?
Latest update the train is a NJ Transit regional rail. One person injured and sent to the hospital. This is still on the NE corridor so it is disrupting all service.
We are just receiving reports that the last car of a northbound Amtrak train has caught fire in the Falls Township section of Bucks Co. This would be just south of the Trenton NJ station.
Well, ask yourself if you would be more inconvenienced losing some sleep to get to the train station on time or missing the train completely to get that sleep?
1) Are the current Silver Service lines running the Viewliners in the rear of the train following the diner?
2) If so, are they planning on keeping it that way?
3) Do you think there are any disadvantages running a Viewliner at the rear of the train?
Thank you,
Happy New Year!
Hello, we are traveling in a roomette on train #92 in Orlando boarding at 7:30. Would we be able to still grab a meal in the diner once we board?
Happy Holidays to All.
When my family and I travel from PA to FL on the Silver Service lines, we always purchase a viewliner roomette. By doing that all your meals would be included and you will get a comfortable bed to sleep in. I've also noticed the last 2 times we took the 'Silvers' that the sleepers were sold...
