FWIW - A few days ago I was on a bus bridge between Alton and Springfield, then Illini train on to Chicago. The bus was very nice. It was a pleasant surprise and wouldn't of minded if I had to ride the bus all the way to Chicago.
Overheard a gate agent this morning at Chicago saying next week they are starting a new boarding process similar to the airlines, using boarding passes. Maybe this is old news, but it's the first I have heard of it.
Disabled freight train blocking the track around Omaha. Then backed up traffic clearing from that.
The crew timed out during the ordeal but was replaced before the freight was cleared.

After reading that article, I had to look at the calendar to make sure it wasn't the 1st of April. Now I'm not a civil engineer (nor do I play one on TV), but I would think platform length of a train station is one of those key foundation numbers one would look at first.

A couple of times when making reservation I have noticed adding Business Class caused the base fare to increase. This happened on the Lincoln (Illinois) service.
