We are traveling this summer from Toronto to Vancouver in Prestige calls, and were wondering what the appropriate tips were: 1) Our Car Attendant - We know they switch out half way thru 2) Dining car staff 3) Lounge car staff - When and how much?

Both are great, but I prefer West bound. Reasons: Day 2 - Wake up outside of Denver, spend all day in Rockies. Day 3 - Wake up in the desert and then thru Donner Pass, and then down the east side of the Sierra's Going Eastbound, you risk the train running late and missing the Rockies.

We are traveling from Toronto to Vancouver in June on the Canadian. We have splurged on Prestige Class, and are in car # 31. We would like to know any of the "Ins" and "Outs" about our trip? Any recommendations on the trip? Any thoughts on tipping? All input is welcome. Thanks

Has anyone traveled in Prestige Class? I would love to hear about your experience. I am a little concerned about the bed, does it really sleep two adults?

Can you use the upgrade certificates in the sleeper? i.e. move from a roomette to a bedroom? Thanks for the help

I used to have an Amtrak credit, which when I signed up I received 20,000 bonus miles. With Covid, I cancelled the card, when it was up for renewal. If I apply again, do I qualify for a second 20,000 mileage bonus? Thanks.

I agree 100%, Just rode the Cardinal from CHI to NYP. 2 dinners and 1 lunch, all terrible.
