My SCA told me yesterday that they will be keeping this consist permanent. Told me it had to do with passengers complaining about the horn through the night.

With the coaches up front now, do they still double-stop for sleeping car passengers at platforms that cannot contain the entire train (most)? Or do sleeping car passengers board through coach and walk back?

I just saw the NB Silver Star near WPB, sleepers and baggage trailing still.

As much as I prefer the sleepers behind the engines, I understand completely why they would keep this current configuration. Makes more sense logistically.

I just hope my train in less than two weeks is in normal configuration. Something about this coach-first consist doesn't seem natural.

In my experience, 98% of Amtrak northbounds are on the east track. However, the one of the few times I've seen otherwise was the one day I took the train last year from DLB-NYP. All of on the east platform are watching as we see the locomotive crossover to the west platform just a few hundred...

I'll be on the NB Silver Meteor soon, and I have a rather large bag with me. The station is Delray Beach (DLB), which doesn't have a baggage handler. However, the next stop some 15 minutes down the line (WPB) does. If for some reason they don't let me bring it aboard, would they let me bring it...

Agh, getting anxious. My trip is in 16 days and I'd really love to be right behind the locomotive in my roomette. The horn is soothing to me ^_^

Viewliner maintenance is in Hialeah? Does that mean we could see one deadheaded on Silver Service soon?
