Supposed to be taking this train PDX->SEA, over 5 hours late, now showing that it’s in service disruption. Anyone have details on if this or 508 is actually going to make it to SEA tonight? Or should I start looking for a hotel?

Here is what Amtrak Twitter Alerts says,

UPDATE: Coast Starlight Train 14 which departed Los Angeles (LAX) on 10/2 is still experiencing a delay north of Salem (SLM) due to a disable freight train ahead. The train will begin moving again when the path is clear.

Amtrak's track a train shows 14 just south of Oregon City and on the move at 39 mph. No more information as it is showing in service disruption.

It shows 508 2 hours and 51 minutes late and on the move just south of Junction City at 79 mph. It is estimated into Portland at 9:45 pm and into Seattle at 12:59 am.

Assuming that 14 keeps heading north, it will be significantly earlier than 508, since it is getting close to Portland and 508 is still a long ways off.

@AmtrakAlerts says 14 was delayed due to a disabled freight. Doesn't say anything about 508.

Track a train now has 14 around Clackamas, well north of Salem, and moving at 53 mph. Looks like they got that freight train in the clear, but it being back on the move is not reflected in @AmtrakAlerts.

Thanks all. I did see the twitter messages but there wasn’t clarity on if 14 was going to actually continue on. Here’s hoping both 14 and 508 make it up to SEA.
