At some point, it is quite possible for Seimans to have manufactured the majority of Amtrak's equipment. In this case, IMHO it might be an improvement for Amtrak to contract maintenance work to Siemens rather than continue to rely on their own employees to service the equipment.

Amtrak is going to contract the maintenance of the Airo fleet to Siemens. As for what the rag tag circus of state DOTs do with their stuff, that is apparently not for Amtrak to unilaterally decide.

That's a smart move IMHO. Hopefully, the states will wise up.

They'll also have to be cautious about existing union agreements.
