This morning Miami Mechanical blew it in a big time sort of way. P098-29 was sent on the road with only one sleeper. All passengers from the 11 car were to be reaccomodated in coach, full refund. P092-29 suffered a similar fate, one sleeper (bad ordered toilets in the 11) but an extra coach was added to handle the 11 car passengers, it is my expectation they were given pillows, blankets, two seats per person and meals in the diner, plus the refund (that's just speculation though). Fortunately 98 was able to get out of Miami on time, 92 left about an hour late, 90 about the same (for unknown reasons). The Conductor on 98 had a handdful to say the least trying to reaccomodate passengers, explaining, negotiating, and having to try to confer with management all at the same time.

As for the trip south on 91 today life was good and bad at the same time. We had two horses today (93 leading 97 trailing), three sleepers (no crew car), and a rebuilt lounge. But the train had its short comings, the Dining car was unable to hold any water at all (Miami Mechanical got an earful about that well before the train even got in), and we were holding on for dear life in the lounge. Our lounge (28012) had a couple of very bad springs, it got so bad that items were falling on the floor when you hit a switch, the Conductor had to do as much paperwork as he could during slow orders. Hopefully we won't have that car tomorrow on 98, but you never know with Miami.
