Hello, has anyone noticed how the Amfleet II coaches are positioned so that the last amfleet coach in a consist, has the no door portion of the coach at the rear? If so why is Amtrak doing this?

It is to enable the cars to have uniform pointing that coincides with an ADA requirement for access to the dining facilities. The previous method was hard on New York with equipment deviations and run through service since some cars pointed in different directions. If they needed to grab a car from another train, they would often have to loop it to get it facing the appropriate direction.

As such, the vestibules face forward.
